Dinner Date…

So the wife and I decided to go for an early dinner tonight at the Birdsall House in Peekskill, a local restaurant. My wife’s parents live in Cortlandt, a town over from Peekskill. We usually come up here every weekend, or every other weekend. It’s nice coming up here to get a break from the city. Also, our daughter Amaya gets to spend time with her grandparents, which also gives us a bit of a break. Well, at least long enough to go have a decent meal. Tonight we went to the Birdsall House; and going to the Birdsall House we know we will come out happy and never disappointed. I mean look at that spread!?!(Boobies not included)! We had pulled pork nachos with black bean puree, apple salsa, sour cream and jalapeno, YUM! Pulled pork sliders with red onion jam, caraway mustard, carrot pickles, and black wax cheddar. Now, I’m not a huge mustard fan or a fan or anything pickled, really, but these sliders were awesome! And, a little bowl of pork and stout chili. Yeah a very meaty dinner, but this is all we really needed to eat. Oh, and how could I forget that big glass of golden deliciousness? That would be a pint of Captain Lawrence’s Golden Delicious! This is one of my most favorite beers, and any time I see it on draft I have to have a pint. Brewed here in New York, and if you are not familiar with the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, get familiar.

So if you ever catch yourself in Peekskill, New York and looking for a place to eat, this place is highly, highly recommended!
